What is Apps Script?

Apps Script is a cloud-based JavaScript platform that lets you integrate with and automate tasks across G-suite products. It’s basically your free virtual assistant — you just don’t know it yet. 🤖

Why should I learn it as a People Ops professional?

To save yourself time and energy by automating repetitive tasks. Think: onboarding new employees, tracking employee time off, creating reports, and managing employee data. With Apps Script, you can free yourself up to focus more on strategic and impactful work.
To save money — HR teams are notoriously under-resourced, but Apps Script is free. While other low or no-code solutions like Zapier 🧡 are great, they might be out of budget. Apps Script also offers more customisation and control over the automation process than these solutions sometimes do.
